Freixenet obtains the “Biosphere” and “Safe Travels” seals

  • These seals endorse Freixenet’s commitment to sustainable and safe wine tourism, which has also been recognized as a Tourist Information Point

Freixenet has obtained the “Biosphere” and “Safe Travels” seals in recognition of its commitment to sustainable, quality and safe wine tourism. Biosphere is promoted by the Diputació de Barcelona and the Chamber of Commerce and endorsed by the Responsible Tourism Institute. This seal certifies sustainable, voluntary and independent tourism and applies all the sustainable development objectives in the tourism sector. After obtaining it for the first time in 2018, Freixenet has managed to renew it for the fourth consecutive year.

Likewise, the Safe Travels certificate is the accrediting seal issued by the World Travel & Tourism Council in recognition of the implementation of all the hygienic and sanitary measures required to receive visitors in a safe environment. Specifically, in a year marked by the coronavirus pandemic, the certification guarantees internationally that the protocols for preventive measures against Covid-19 are met.

In addition, Freixenet has been recognized for the second year as a Tourist Information Point, a recognition granted by Diputació de Barcelona and implemented in our region by Penedès Turisme. This certificate certifies that the company is part of the local tourism network and designation of origin for better service at the destination of visitors.

Thus, Freixenet has revalidated all the certificates of quality and tourist excellence available, which confirms the firm and constant commitment of the winery in the attention of visitors from a comprehensive and sustainable perspective, as well as networking with all institutions of the tourism sector such as Generalitat de Catalunya, Diputació de Barcelona and Penedès Turisme.

Freixenet is committed to a wine tourism of the highest quality, sustainable and safe. A wine tourism offer that is a guarantee of economic, socio-cultural and environmental balance and provides significant benefits to the region, complying with the highest visitor standards and protecting and improving future prospects.
