Freixenet participates in the first International Summit on the agri-food sector

Freixenet is one of the companies participating in the first International Summit ‘Food Systems Global.es’, held on 21 and 22 March at La Fira de Barcelona. The event is organized by the Triptolemos Foundation, together with the Mediterranean Foundation and the INCYDE Foundation of the Chambers of Commerce, chaired by José Luis Bonet, in turn Honorary President of Freixenet. The summit seeks to promote positive and transformative dynamics within the sector to ensure the continuity of the food company in the future, the main engine of the Spanish economy.

On behalf of the company, Gloria Martí, Sustainability Officer and Head of Environment of Grupo Freixenet, participated in the round table ‘Food waste, food circularity, science and technology’ on Wednesday, March 22. Likewise, the Freixenet Cavas have been the scene of the official gala dinner of the event, held on the 22nd, which will have a delegation of more than 100 participants and the presence of important personalities at the institutional level such as Botche Candé, Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Guinea Bissau, Dinesh Patnaik, Ambassador of India, or Joaquim Gay de Montellá, former President of the Catalan employers’ association Fomento del Trabajo Nacional.

The event, of an international nature, has the representation of more than 25 countries and high-level organizations such as the UN, WHO, FAO and UNESCO. The summit also receives the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of the Government of Spain. The event is positioned as a great space for debate worldwide in terms of food, foodtech and sustainability, where the main companies in the sector and their leaders share the new challenges of the industry and address the most relevant issues in the food field. All this with emphasis on making Spanish potential known to the rest of the world.
