Freixenet hosts the Future of Tourism World Summit

This October 26 and 27 was held in Barcelona the Future of Tourism World Summit 2021, ​​an important international meeting of the tourism field that held its Welcome Cocktail at Cavas Freixenet, a world reference in wine tourism. Several relevant personalities of the tourism sector attended the event and were received by José Luis Bonet, Honorary President of Freixenet and prominent speaker at this world summit as president of INCYDE Foundation of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce, co-organizer institution of the event, and by Pedro Ferrer, CEO and Vice President of Freixenet.

The Future of Tourism World Summit aimed to unite the main institutions, companies and organizations linked to tourism at an international level to reflect on the future of tourism and the global economy after the pandemic. This outstanding event was organized by the Advanced Leadership Foundation, the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and the INCYDE Foundation of the Spanish Chambers of Commerce.

Cavas Freixenet was the venue that hosted the Welcome Cocktail of the Future of Tourism World Summit during the first day of the event. A delegation of 120 participants from the summit visited our emblematic centenary cellar in Sant Sadurní d’Anoia and learned first-hand about the traditional method of cava making as well as our strong commitment to innovation and sustainability. Among the personalities who attended are Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of the UNWTO; Rosalía Arteaga, Former President of Ecuador and President of FIDAL; Sofia Zacharaki Minister of Tourism of Greece; Ivan Eskildsen, Minister of Tourism of Panama; Modero Nsimba Matondo, Minister of Tourism of Congo; Juan Verde, President of the Advanced Leadership Foundation; Esther Alcocer Koplowitz, President of FCC; or Eduardo Baamonde, President of Cajamar. Later, a great cocktail was offered at Freixenet Royal Hall by the prestigious chef Nandu Jubany.

In addition, José Luís Bonet, Honorary President of Freixenet and President of the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and the INCYDE Foundation, has been one of the main protagonists of the summit, participating in the presentations on wine tourism, sustainability and well-being together with prominent personalities such as the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Spain Reyes Maroto, the psychiatrist the psychiatrist and researcher Luis Rojas Marcos, the Deputy to the Parliament of Catalonia and former Minister of Health Salvador Illa or the Director of the Department of Public Health and the Environment at the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. María Neira.
