The Freixenet Group triumphs with its cavas and wines at Premis Vinari

The Freixenet and Segura Viudas brands stand out in the contest, which has awarded a gold to Segura Viudas Brut Rosé

At the Freixenet Group we are proud to announce that Freixenet and Segura Viudas have added new successes in the prestigious Premis Vinari, the event with the most impact in the Catalan wine world that this year celebrates its tenth anniversary. The gala was held on October 7 in Vilafranca del Penedès, Barcelona.

Specifically, the Segura Viudas cava awarded with the outstanding Gold Vinari award was the sophisticated Segura Viudas Brut Rosé, made from the Trepat, Garnacha and Pinot Noir varieties. The Trepat gives it fresh fruit, aroma and finesse. The Garnacha contributes to make it more tasty. Pinot Noir provides a spicy touch and aromatic intensity. Its strawberry pink color with salmon nuances and its youthful fruity aromas reminiscent of raspberry, currant and pomegranate stand out. It has a sweet touch that spreads across the palate and makes it extremely appetizing.

In addition, have been awarded by the Silver Vinari the emblematic Freixenet Brut Nature, which was the first vintage cava and a classic made with the three most traditional varieties of cava Xacabeo, Xarel lo and Parellada, and Freixenet Cuvée DS, an elegant gran reserva with soft aromas of fruit and hints of bakery and honey inspired by the co-founder of Freixenet, Dolores Sala. For its part, Segura Viudas, our renowned winery with 800 years of winemaking tradition and respect for roots, has also obtained a Silver Vinari award for the smooth, tasty and structured Segura Viudas Mas d’Aranyó wine.

These recognitions are added to those already awarded in the last June edition of the Premis Vinari 2022 where our elegant Elyssia Gran Cuvée cava was awarded a Gold medal. In addition, the iconic and universal Freixenet Cordón Negro Brut cava, which stands out for its fruity, light and fresh character, and the aromatic Freixenet Selección Especial White wine, were awarded the Silver Vinari award. For its part, Segura Viudas, also obtained a Silver Vinari award for the emblematic Segura Viudas Lavit Brut Nature cava, unique for its aromas of yeast, dried fruit, ripe fruit and aniseed nuances.

For a decade, the Premis Vinari have distinguished the good work and progress of Catalan wineries in the field of wines and sparkling wines, becoming the main competition in the sector at a Catalan level. More than 200 medals are awarded in a gala broadcast live on television through Channel 33. The objectives of the Premis Vinari are multiple, but they converge when it comes to connecting the seas of vineyards that dot the entire Catalan territory with society and consumers who will appreciate and value them.
