Gloria Martí is appointed Sustainability Officer of Grupo Freixenet
- This promotion is linked to the creation of the Corporate Sustainability area at a global level by Henkell-Freixenet
- At the same time, Martí will maintain his position as Responsible for the Environment of the Freixenet Group
The Freixenet Group has appointed Gloria Martí Sustainability Officer of the company in Spain. This appointment demonstrates the wine company’s commitment to sustainability after the creation of the Corporate Sustainability department at a global level by Henkell-Freixenet.
With a degree in Agricultural Technical Engineering from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), Martí is specialized in food industries and has an MBA from the ESIC business school. With more than 25 years of experience in this sector, Gloria Martí is now starting a new stage in the company where she has worked for more than 20 years.
The board of directors will take on this challenge, which, at the same time, it will combine with its role as Responsible for the Environment at the Freixenet Group. As Sustainability Officer, Martí will report to Katharina Truszkowska, who has been appointed Head of Global Sustainability for the Henkell-Freixenet group.
In parallel, Gloria Martí also holds positions of high responsibility in organizations in the sector as president of ENVICAB, a position she has held since 2010, as well as a member of the environment and sustainability commissions of the Catalan business association Foment del Treball, of the Federation of Food Industries and Drinks (FIAB), the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) and ECOVIDRIO.
For the Freixenet Group, sustainability is one of the fundamental pillars of its business strategy. For this reason, the company has recently reformulated its objectives in terms of sustainability both at the international level and at the national level of the company.
In this sense, the new appointment of Gloria Martí will bring to the table coordination with those responsible in the areas in which corporate sustainability is focused, that is, governance, social and environmental, as well as compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals set by the UN.
