Success of the Freixenet Group at Premis Vinari 2023

At Grupo Freixenet we are proud to announce that Freixenet and Segura Viudas have added new silver medals at the prestigious Premis Vinari, the event with the most impact in the Catalan wine world in its eleventh edition. The gala was held on October 6 and was presented by the comedian Pep Plaza at the Teatre Casal in Vilafranca del Penedès, Barcelona.

Among Freixenet’s award-winning cavas are Elyssia Pinot Noir, which is characterized by being a variety with a low tannic structure, which provides medium body and elegant and fruity sensations in the mouth, and Elyssia Gran Cuvée, made from the varieties Chardonnay, Macabeo, Parellada and Pinot Noir. Both have been awarded by the Vinari de Plata award in the categories of Reserva Rosé Sparkling Wines and Gran Reserva White Sparkling Wines, respectively.

Freixenet Reserva Real has also achieved a silver medal in the Gran Reserva White Sparkling category. To make its base wine, the Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada varieties are used. With a marked brut style in the mouth and a solid body combined with a fresh citric acidity and a perfectly integrated carbon dioxide, it releases a generous set of flavors and generates an intense and persistent palate.

In addition, the smooth, tasty and structured wine Segura Viudas Mas d’Aranyó, awarded in the category of “Guarda” Black Wines, and the sophisticated cava Segura Viudas Brut Rosé, made from the Trepat, Grenache and Pinot Noir varieties, which give it fruity aromas of youth reminiscent of raspberry, currant and pomegranate, also achieved silver medals.

For a decade, the Premis Vinari have distinguished the good work and progress of Catalan wineries in the field of wines and sparkling wines, becoming the main competition in the sector at a Catalan level. With the help of a hundred professionals who, as members of the jury, blindly taste and evaluate nearly a thousand different references, more than 250 medals are awarded in a gala broadcast live on television through Channel 33. The objectives of the Premis Vinari are multiple, but they converge when it comes to connecting the seas of vineyards that dot the entire Catalan territory with society and consumers who will appreciate and value them.
