Freixenet Group triumphs in the Wine and Sparkling Wines Competition of Catalonia – Giroví

From Freixenet Group we are proud to announce that Freixenet and Segura Viudas have added new successes in the prestigious Wine and Sparkling Wine Competition of Catalonia – Giroví 2024, a prestigious competition held on May 18 in Girona. Specifically, the Freixenet cavas and wines were awarded with outstanding Grand Gold medals, which only the best wines presented receive, have been Elyssia Brut and Elyssia Pinot Noir. In addition, Cordón Negro and Cuvée D.S. (2019) have won a Gold medal.

For its part, Segura Viudas, our renowned winery with 800 years of winemaking tradition and respect for the roots, has also obtained great results with a Gold medal for Segura Viudas Reserva Heredad.

Created by Agustí Ensesa, founder of Colegio de Tastavins del Gironès, the Wine and Sparkling Wine Competition of Catalonia – Giroví held its 29th edition on May 18 at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel in Girona with the participation of samples from all the Catalan DOs. Every year, Giroví increases the number of competing wineries and has a demanding jury made up of oenologists, sommeliers, winemakers, teachers and students from the School of Hospitality, vendors, distributors and restaurateurs.

The recognitions obtained demonstrate, once again, the Freixenet Group’s commitment to the highest quality and exigency in all its products.
