Freixenet Group triumphs at the Catalonia Wine and Sparkling Wine Competition – Giroví

From Freixenet Group we are proud to announce that Freixenet and Segura Viudas have added new successes in the prestigious Wine and Sparkling Competition of Catalonia – Giroví 2025, held on March 29 in Girona. Freixenet, the world’s leading sparkling wine brand, has been awarded outstanding Grand Gold medals, which only the best wines presented receive, for its premium cavas Elyssia Brut and Elyssia Pinot Noir. For its part, Segura Viudas, our renowned winery with 800 years of winemaking tradition and respect for the roots, has also obtained great results with Gold medals for the wines Homenaje blanco and Homenaje rosé.

Created by Agustí Ensesa, founder of the College of Tastavins del Gironès, the Catalonia Wine and Sparkling Wine Competition – Giroví celebrated its 30th edition on March 29 at the Best Western Pemier CMC Girona Hotel with the participation of more than 300 samples from all the Catalan DOs. Giroví increases the number of competing wineries every year and has a demanding jury made up of oenologists, sommeliers, winemakers, teachers and students of the School of Hospitality, vendors, distributors, restaurateurs.
