Freixenet, recognized among the 100 best companies to work for in Spain
Freixenet, a world leader in quality sparkling wines, has once again been chosen among the 100 best companies to work for in Spain, according to the 2026 list published by Forbes magazine. With this recognition, the wine company consolidates its strategic positioning in the field of People and Culture by being part of this ranking for the fourth year, demonstrating its ability to adapt and continuously improve its employee value proposition.
Commitment to a culture that empowers and enables
This recognition endorses the process of cultural transformation promoted by Freixenet's People and Culture area. This model encourages continuous learning, allowing employees to acquire a holistic vision of the business through programs that promote controlled multidisciplinarity and versatility, as well as reskilling.
The company has promoted a strategic plan to build a shared and global culture, based on four corporate pillars: empowerment, learning and curiosity, consumer orientation and celebration of life.
To bring these principles into the reality of business in Spain, a Culture Champions team was created, made up of professionals from different departments, levels and profiles. This team has played a key role in energizing the culture, promoting workshops, collecting insights from the organization and measuring its impact through KPIs that analyze both the relevance and the degree of application of each pillar. Through this participatory, open process based on active listening, a space for exchange was generated that has made it possible to identify real opportunities for improvement and move towards excellence in the "how" things are done. As a result, 22 initiatives have been defined aimed at strengthening the four cultural pillars.
This exercise has been a cultural turning point, not only because of the transversal mobilization of the organization, but also because of the realization of actions, many of which have already been implemented – or are in process – with very positive results in terms of commitment, alignment and cultural evolution. In addition to these projects, the company has also implemented health and wellness programs that include yoga, core, nutrition or mindfulness workshops, an "emotional pills" service (individualized psychological support sessions) and another in-company physiotherapist service for preventive and corrective purposes.
Cristina García Brunet, Director of People and Culture at Freixenet, which has also been included in the Forbes List of the 100 Best HR Directors, highlights: "Our purpose is to promote a culture that connects people with the business and the consumer in a sustainable way, valuing talent, diversity and empowerment. Through actions that encourage multidisciplinarity, continuous learning and tailor-made development plans, we accompany teams in their development, so that they generate impact and contribute to a holistic and sustainable business vision, where people, strategy and consumer advance in an integrated way".
A value proposition based on development and diversity
Being present again on this list also responds to the promotion of specific initiatives that have a direct impact on the professional and personal growth of the workforce. These include projects such as the Graduate Program and Welcome Week, designed to offer cultural immersion and a global vision of the business. In addition, the company promotes a continuous learning model, which translates into more than 21,800 hours of training for 100% of the workforce.
The company also stands out for its firm commitment to equality, being the first company in the sector to approve an Equality Plan, updated in 2024. Thanks to this policy, the presence of women in management positions has increased significantly (with an increase of 20% in the last four years) and in traditionally masculinised operational areas, In addition, Freixenet has reaffirmed its commitment to diversity and inclusion with the recent approval of an LGTBI+ Plan in 2025 that is a pioneer in the field of wine.
Forbes, an international media specialized in business and finance, prepares this list annually that highlights the companies with more than 250 employees best valued nationwide. For the 2026 edition, inclusion in the ranking has required passing a demanding evaluation process in which the opinions of professionals from more than 2,000 companies have been analyzed through an in-depth survey carried out independently by the firm Sigma Dos.
In this way, Freixenet reaffirms its commitment to continue building a safe, diverse, innovative and humane work environment, where talent is at the centre of the strategy to guarantee sustainable and purposeful business growth.
